Manila, Philippines – The motorist who earned notoriety when his video, together with his live-in partner and his bodyguards confronting and hurting traffic enforcers went viral on social media was arrested by the authorities on Friday.

Arnold Padilla was arrested after the police raided his house and apartment in Magallanes, Makati City.

According to initial reports, there were several firearms and at least two grenades found inside his residence.

Earlier this month, Padilla, his live-in partner and bodyguards hit the headlines after they were caught on CCTV attacking the enforcer who flagged them down for beating the red light on August 13 at the corner of Gate 1 of Magallanes Village and EDSA.

It was also discovered that Padilla has long list of complaints as showed on Barangay records that the incident last August 13 was just the latest blotter against him.

In a blotter record dated April 30, 2015, a village security guard narrated that Padilla spat at him, insulted and threatened him when he responded to a commotion involving Padilla’s group inside their village.

The barangay officials also said that Padilla’s group did not only threaten village guards but also their fellow residents.*

Padilla is also said to be the prime suspect in the death of his sister Yvonne Chua, who died after receiving a “gift” which contained five hand grenades in her Taguig residence on December 29, 2010.
Meanwhile, his cousin, Manuel, pointed to Arnold and his mother as the masterminds behind Chua’s death – an allegation they denied.

Authorities are also planning to test Padilla if he’s using illegal drugs, as the drug test that he presented in the Crime Lab was reportedly a fake.

According to some reports, Padilla’s live-in-partner Glocel Razon was nowhere to be found during the search operation.

Aside from illegal possession of firearms, Padilla is also facing charges of direct assault, physical injuries, unjust vexation, coercion, and threats.

Police are planning to transfer him to Camp Bagong Diwa.
