Manila, Philippines – After President Rodrigo Duterte appeared on SAP Bong Go’s Facebook live on Monday, Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) founder Jose Maria Sison said he is relieved to see Duterte alive.

Sison, on August 21 said that he was “pleased” to see the chief executive alive because there’s still a chance he will be held accountable for his supposed crimes against the people and tried by the International Criminal Court.

“Unlike him, I do not have any death wish for Duterte. In fact, I wish him to live long enough to receive a warrant of arrest, unlike the so many thousands of victims of Oplans Tokhang and Kapayapaan,” the communist leader said in a statement.

On his live video, the president turned the tables on the CPP founder, saying it was Sison who could be sick.

In his defense, Sison clarified that he never confirmed that Duterte was in coma.

“I never claimed it to be certainly true but I cautioned the readers of my Facebook Timeline that the report is subject to verification or negation by the public appearance of Duterte and by credible medical bulletin,” he said.

Sison cited that he is gratified to know that he Facebook live video posted by Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go showed Duterte “truly looking very tired and dispirited, his face still very dark and his right eye drooping.”

“He looks like he just came from dialysis or some other kind of treatment on Sunday,” the communist leader said.

Meanwhile, President's daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio criticized Sison over his initial claim that Duterte slipped into a coma.*

In a statement, Duterte-Carpio first recalled how the CPP founder sent her chocolates and a note "some years ago," a surprise that sent a "rational and pleasant" message.

With that, now after Sison’s fake claims on the president’s health condition, it made her think that whether it was really the communist leader who made the claims or maybe it was only his caretaker.

"His recent Facebook posts about the dying PRD (President Rodrigo Duterte) is not rational and napaisip ako kung siya ba ang nagpost or baka caretaker na lang ni Joma," the Davao city mayor said.

"My guess is, at the rate that he or his caretaker is unraveling, he will soon say PRD is not human but an alien in the form of Rodrigo Duterte," Duterte-Carpio also said.
