President Rodrigo Duterte has found an objector in the person of Aries Arugay, a Political Science Professor at the University of the Philippines, following Tuesday’s statement saying he PREFERS the likes of Sen. Francis Escudero and former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to succeed him instead of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Arugay reminded the President that he would go about against the will of the people if he REFUSES VP Leni as his ‘constitutional successor’.

Arugay stressed that until such time that a draft constitution has been approved, giving the President the opportunity to choose his own 2nd in command, the President is left with a rather limited choice but to respect the people’s will, and comply by their own mandates as President and Vice President, respectively.

The President reiterated his discernment towards Robredo having to defeat his ally, Bong – Bong Marcos during the 2016 National Elections citing that Robredo’s hometown of Naga City is a breeding ground for illegal drugs.

“I think deep in my heart, if you follow the succession and Robredo takes over, she’s not capable (of leading),” he said.

Meanwhile. Vice Presidential Spokesperson, Barry Gutierrez backfired at the President who had been constantly appointing inept Cabinet Officials.

In a statement, Gutierrez said, “The ‘competent’ people according to the President: the (former) tourism secretary who did nothing but steal; the head of the (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) who disappeared during floods, and the National Food Authority chief under whose watch, the country’s rice supply has disappeared.”
