MUST READ: A powerful open letter to Moira Dela Torre

Photo compiled from Spot.ph and Facebook
A witty open letter addressed to the controversial singer Moira Dela Torre in response to her ill-mannered and disgustful tweet against Marcos.

A Perfect Response

In an open letter posted by Be A Nobody’s Fool on its Facebook page, the author definitely succeeded in pointing out all the shortcomings that the singer committed in the hope that she would realize her mistakes and apologize to the Ilocanos.

What made the letter truly interesting is that it incorporated all of Moira’s hit songs into the letter seamlessly without ruining the message that it want to convey.

Well Written Poetry

Here are some points included in the open letter addressed to Moira

The venue (TAGPUAN) of your concert is Ilocos Norte. You should’ve known beforehand that It is the province of the Marcoses. Or do you need to brush up with your History class?

You’re free (MALAYA) to decline the invitation to perform for the celebration of Marcos. It’s unethical that you chose to complain after your performance, and act like you’ve been exploited and forced to perform.

It would have been much better if you had yourself fetched (SUNDO) when you discovered you will be singing for Marcos. It’s more professional to back out rather than to lash out after you’ve performed and after you’ve received your talent fee.

Better are the boyish (TITIBO-TIBO) girls, because they don’t have much inhibitions. Unlike you who has so many demands. You don’t want this and you don’t like that, good thing the Ilocanos were known to be hospitable, so they gave in to your demands. So this is what they get in return?

Better start learning the game hide-and-seek (TAGU-TAGUAN) because not only did you hurt the fellings of Ilocanos, you’ve also offended all the supporters of Marcos in the Philippines.

Let’s see if you won’t feel panic (TORETE) once the Ilocanos declare you a Persona Non Grata.

Don’t ask the people of Ilocos Norte what happened to us (ANONG NANGYARI SATING DALAWA?) because you knew what happened. You can easily say that it is all just work, no politics involved. Why the need to say those things in Twitter?

There’s nothing missing (WALA NG KULANG PA) in Apo Lakay’s birthday even if you weren’t there. There are so many artist, who incidentally are much better than you, who performed for his celebration.

Even if my hair turns white (KAHIT MAPUTI NA ANG BUHOK KO),I will never, ever listen to your songs again.

Why don’t you listen to your own song hearsay, (SABI-SABI), because it is applicable to you.

A Fitting Advice

The author of the letter gave Moira a fitting advice, saying that “ No one can destroy Iron, but its own rust can.” In case Moira never completely recover from this controversy, she can only blame herself for it.

Read full open letter below:

Wag ganun girl.

Pang-apat. Siyempre, Ilocanos are well- known for their hospitality so I'm very sure that they did everything to give you the best accomodation.

Pang-lima.
