Newspaper editor and publisher calls out Trillanes, accuses him of lying

Filipino newspaper editor and publisher Ermin Garcia Jr., recently took it popular social media site Facebook, in order to air out his grievances, particularly against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV who was recently arrested due to the revocation of his amnesty with the judges saying the application he has was void.

According to Garcia, Trillanes’ argument saying that just because he does not have a copy of his application for amnesty does not mean that he did not apply in the first place, is not a logical argument.

Garcia says that what Trillanes said was “misleading and totally irrelevant”.

An affidavit to manifest truthfulness of a claim to support an application, i. e, application for amnesty, lost passport or license, retc., requires several notarized copies for distribution to concerned agencies, and one copy is always kept by filer,” wrote Garcia in his Facebook post.

He adds that if the filing of the amnesty is true as Trillanes says it is, then he should be able to present his own copy of the file as proof that he did file and was granted the amnesty.

Concluding his post, Garcia says that because Trillanes could not present proof of his application, he must not have applied in the first place and was only facilitated and expedited by the Aquino administration in order to grant amnesty to Trillanes without following proper procedure.

"AN ABSURD ARGUMENT FOR TRILLANES' BLATANT LIE.

An application form for passport is never accomplished in duplicate, where a filer keeps the duplicate as "received" copy. DFA simply isues a standard receipt to prove submission.

To argue the seeming Illogical position of govt and court, therefore, that Mr. Trillanes' missing copy of application for amnesty does not mean that he did not apply is akin to denying a passport was issued simply because filer's application form is missing, is grossly MISLEADING if not totally IRRELEVANT.

There is a whale of difference there.

An affidavit to manifest truthfulness of a claim to support an application, i. e, application for amnesty, lost passport or license, retc., requires several notarized copies for distribution to concerned agencies, and one copy is always kept by filer.

By all established legal pricedures, Mr. Trillanes should, therefore, have his own copy if he really filed his own application.

Recall that he claims he has copy of receipt of purchase of a watch bought decades ago to prove PDU30 's criminal activities but can lose his copy of a doc as important as his birth certicate and marriage license?

It is absurd for him to demand from govt today to produce something it never received as evidenced by Mr Trillanes failure to produce his own precious copy that meant his freedom.

It apoears he really did not file his application. His application was obviously simply FACILITATED and EXPEDITED by the PNoy govt disregarding established rules, to grant the amnesty.

Mr. Trillanes obviously thinks he can fool Filipinos and his compatriots all the time. Tsktsk

What arrogance. Lying to the nation with a straight face, unremorseful about his past treasonous crimes."
