The Hague lawyer says Trillanes will soon face court martial after RTC arrest

Paula Defensor Knack and Sen. Antonio Trillanes
Political analyst Paula Defensor Knack considered Trillanes’ crimes as infamous and shameful, and that he deserve to be in jail.

The Political Analyst

Paula Defensor Knack, the younger sister of the late Miriam Defensor Santiago, is one the most influential political analyst online. She has a reach of over 5 million. She gives legal opinions on state matters in the hope of educating the masses of what’s really going on with our beloved country.

Shameful Trillanes

In a post she shared on her Facebook page, she lambasted the former navy officer turned mutineer turned politician, saying that Trillanes should be ashamed of his many crimes. He left the military with pending crimes, tried to overthrow a government more than once, and he faked his way to the Senate.

Knack further said that Trillanes was so sure of himself that he thinks he can get away with all his antics.

Arrested At Last

For more than 3 weeks after the proclamation of the voided amnesty, Trillanes stayed in the Senate to evade arrest. Earlier today, Makati RTC branch 150 Judge Elmo Alameda issued a warrant of arrest for Trillanes’ rebellion case. A few hours later, Trillanes was arrested in the Senate. He peacefully obliged and he was taken to the Makati police station to undergo booking procedures. He posed for mugshots and was fingerprinted.

Afterward, Trillanes went to the Makati RTC to post bail. His bail was set at 200,000 pesos. In a matter of hours, Trillanes was back again at the senate, enjoying his temporary liberty.

Merits Of The Case

His colleagues in the opposition denounced his arrest as unjust. They argue that his rebellion case was already dismissed because of the amnesty given to him in 2011. However, since his amnesty was nullified, it would be fair to say that the dismissal of his rebellion case would be null and void as well. Therefore, there is a pending case, that needed to be continued.

Paula Defensor Knack also said that “If his amnesty was void because he had a pending case when his service with the military was terminated, then he MUST RETURN TO FACE COURT MARTIAL because he is not a civilian, but a soldier and the RTC's have no jurisdiction over soldiers”.

Here are some of the netizens’ reaction:

HOW INFAMOUS AND SHAMEFUL. He faked his way to the Senate, by leaving the military with a record of crimes, a pending case, and a void amnesty - DID HE REALLY THINK HE CAN GET AWAY WITH IT ? ... DOES HE FEEL THE COLLECTIVE ANGER OF THE FILIPINO PEOPLE ?

If his amnesty was void because he had a pending case when his service with the military was terminated, then he MUST RETURN TO FACE COURT MARTIAL because he is not a civilian, but a soldier and the RTC's have no jurisdiction over soldiers.

Lets hope his multimillions in foreign bank accounts are sequestered by the government . What a despicable record of crimes.
