AFP Chief of Staff Carlito Galvez was lambasted by lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles after the general said that they will let the civilian court settle the issue with Senator Trillanes.

No Court Marshal...Yet

In a press briefing held earlier, AFP Chief of Staff Galvez reiterated the fact that it is not yet the time for Senator Trillanes to face court marshal proceedings since the cases filed in the courts have yet to be finished.

He also said that the president has ordered that they should allow the rule of law to prevail, so they will respect the courts. He also added that the only case that Trillanes have in the AFP is an administrative case for Conduct Unbecoming of An Officer and A Gentleman pertaining to his Oakwood mutiny in 2003.

Lawyer Infuriated

In a post shared by Luminous of Trixie Cruz-Angeles and Ahmed Paglinawan on Facebook, they angrily slammed the chief of staff for betraying the people and for eating his words. They claimed that General Galvez stated last September that he has already reconvened the court marshal and is just waiting for the resolution of the Supreme Court.

Since the SC did not issue any TRO and the Proclamation 572 was deemed valid by the Makati court, lawyer Angeles insisted that there is no reason to wait anymore. But the AFP Chief of Staff suddenly had a change of heart and is now saying that they will let the civilian courts decide the fate of Trillanes.

Angeles accused the general for having no dignity and asked for his resignation.

Reactions from Netizens

The netizens were quick to express their disgust over the sudden change of heart of the chief of staff. Some netizens accused him of being from the other side of the fence, and that the president was wrong when he chose Galvez for the post. Most of the netizens are asking for the resignation of the AFP Chief of Staff.

Here are some of the reactions from the netizens:

Huli ka, Galvez!

Last Sept sinabi mo na ni reconvene mo ang Court Martial ni Trillanes pero iniintay mo ang resolution ng Supreme Court.

Hindi nag issue ang Supreme Court ng TRO, therefore wala ka nang iniintay. Legal ang Proclamation 572 ng Pangulo.

Ngayon sinasabi mo ipauubaya mo sa civilian courts ang kasong rebelyon ni Trillanes? You can't do that.

Unang una, hindi na court martial sa kasong rebelyon si Trillanes, dahil nung nagpunta sila sa Manila Penn, senador na sya. Ang jurisdiction ng court martial ay sa kasong coup d'etat.

At nag acquire na ng jurisdiction ang Special General Court Martial No.1 kay Trillanes dahil nasa military pa sya when he was arraigned.

Wala kang dangal Gen Galvez. Mag resign ka na!
