Duterte's Davao police chief involved in a viral video hitting wife, is Manila's new top cop

Senior Superintendent Vicente Danao Jr., a former director of Davao Police is the new MPD director replacing Chief Superintendent Rolando Anduyan who will be assigned at the Northern Police District.

Police abuse

While President Rodrigo Duterte was still mayor of Davao, Danao was a top cop even though he was involved in a viral  YouTube video of him hitting his wife.

In the video, Senior Supt. Vicente Danao is reportedly inhumane even to his family as depicted in the police blotters during occasions his battered wife sought help in the  local police station.

As depicted in the video, he still physically and verbally abuse his wife.


A known womanizer and brutal officer, Senior Supt. Danao doesn't deserve his current pedestal in the government.

Danao's promise

Danao joked that he would castrated rogue police officers who commit rape as he recall allegations against Police Officer 1 Eduardo Valencia raped a 15-year-old girl in exchange for her parents’ release from drug charges.

He said he would put internal cleaning in the police organization as that is his top priority.


“Please be reminded that under my leadership, fighting with my police force will mean paying the hard price, and might even cost your life,” Danao said in his speech at the MPD headquarters.

Danao was a Davao police chief from 2013 to 2016.

In 2014, Danao drew public attention after his wife filed complaints against him for alleged physical and verbal abuse.

He belongs to the Philippine Military Academy Sambisig Class of 1991.
