NYU alumna's 'unpopular opinion': 'Sa tingin ko, mali man siya, totoong mahal ni Satur ang bansa, hindi gaya ng mga politikong manggagamit,'

The PNP releases on Friday, November 30, 2018, the mugshot of former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo when he was detained, along with ACT Party-list Rep. France Castro and 16 others, by the Talaingod police in Davao del Norte on Wednesday night, November 28, 2018. PRO11 / image via GMA News

New York University alumna and well-known social media personality Krizette Laureta Chu took to Facebook once more to give her “unpopular opinion” on Satur Ocampo, the former Bayan Muna representative who was recently involved in child trafficking incident in Davao del Norte.

Misguided

Chu believes that Ocampo might have been misguided by his ideals, but unlike other politicians like Robredo and Hontiveros, who use children to keep them in power, Ocampo genuinely cares for the country for some reasons Chu pointed out.

“This man has been an activist all his life, and he has remained simple, and active, and on the ground, even in his old age. No matter if we think he is wrong, he believes that he is right and acts according to it.” The NYU alumna said

Unlike others

“I think Satur is only one of very few who sincerely fights for his belief, and it has not escaped my notice that he did not allow himself to be used by LP propaganda the way S and R SHOPPER AND lasallista daddy have prostituted themselves.” She said

“Sa tingin ko, mali man siya, totoong mahal ni Satur ang bansa, hindi gaya ng mga politikong manggagamit, at hindi gaya ng mga ralyistang bayaran na nga, wala pang alam, ipokrito pa. My gut tells me this man will die fighting for his belief. He is ready to give his life. Very very very few people are willing to give their lives for a cause they believe in. Very few people will even believe in a cause enough to be passionate about it.” Chu added

Krizette Laureta Chu’s full post reads:

Unpopular opinion:

I think Satur Ocampo is an authentic, sincere man who is misguided by his ideals. His actions are not borne out of the need to profit or malice, like so many pseudo activists for hire, like COKE FLOAT/ S and R and LA SALLISTA KIDS, but by a sincere belief that his actions will benefit a nation.*

This man has been an activist all his life, and he has remained simple, and active, and on the ground, even in his old age. No matter if we think he is wrong, he believes that he is right and acts according to it.

Ano ang pinag kaiba ni Satur na nag hahakot ng kabataan para turuan kung ano ang tingin nya ay tama? To teach kids the value of fighting for their rights, at ang pagkakaiba ni Leni at Risa who do school rounds and brainwash kids?

Satur does it so that kids will at a young age realize the inequalities and injustices of life, while Leni and Risa brainwash kids from posh schools so they can get the Millennial market and use these kids to keep them in power forever.

I do not think Communism and activism are wrong as ideals. I think NPAs are abusive when they set fire to infrastructure or extort from businessmen.

But I liken this practice to rogue policemen abusing their powers. Sa bawat organisasyon, may abusado. But if you ask me if communism and activism and rallying are bad as concepts, of course not. They are much needed for times when government needs to be kept in check*

Of all the activitists, I think Satur is only one of very few who sincerely fights for his belief, and it has not escaped my notice that he did not allow himself to be used by LP propaganda the way S and R SHOPPER AND la sallista daddy have prostituted themselves.

In revolutionary eras, kids were taught to rebel and question at a young age, as young as 12, and many of our heroes like Gregorio del Pilar were young when they fought for this country. I am not saying it is right to teach kids to fight at a young age, I am saying that I see why, for activists like Satur, they see nothing wrong with planting seeds of activism in young kids. He does it because he believes in his cause, Leni and Risa do school tours for propaganda to help keep themselves in power.

Sa tingin ko, mali man siya, totoong mahal ni Satur ang bansa, hindi gaya ng mga politikong manggagamit, at hindi gaya ng mga ralyistang bayaran na nga, wala pang alam, ipokrito pa. My gut tells me this man will die fighting for his belief. He is ready to give his life. Very very very few people are willing to give their lives for a cause they believe in. Very few people will even believe in a cause enough to be passionate about it.

Satur Ocampo walks his talk, and for this I give him my begrudging respect.
