Put*ng*na this isn’t a fashion show! Teddyboy Locsin slams critic of Duterte’s ill-fitting suit during ASEAN Summit

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is in Singapore to attend in behalf of the country the 33rd Association of Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.

The vicious ‘crab mentality’ that seems to be so innate to us Filipinos made its presence again in social media- now slamming the attire of President Duterte during one of the important meeting he attended.

Duterte for all his accomplishments in the ASEAN summit, some quarters will find fault or will just say something that will try to smudge the reputation of our hard working chief executive.

'ASEAN, not a fashion show’

A netizen who goes by the twitter name as “BlackHeart0902”made a status regarding the appearance of President Duterte’s ill-fitting suit. He says:

“Sana man lang binihisan nila ng maayos ang Pangulo. This is an important summit, tapos ganyan. Mas mayos pa ang suot ni DFA Sec. @teddyboylocsin,”

BlackHeart0902 accompanied his tweet with a picture screen-grabbed from the PCOO.gov.ph website, showing the President with his suit lopsided, with one side raised above his broad shoulders. It can be seen also in the photo some members of his official entourage mainly cabinet members attending the summit.

The newly appointed Department of Foreign Secretary was so incensed with the tweet of BlackHeart0902 blasted and even cursed the latter in his response tweet.

“Hoy, putangina, this is not a fashion show. Today I am going in rolled up sleeves barong kasi working sessions lahat. Shet. Nobody came in tuxedo. Hindi sila waiters,” he said

This response of the veteran journalist and politician was really meant to slam those quarters who are making any fuss or issues against the President who has nothing in mind but good things for the country.

Issue with ‘power naps’

Yesterday critics of the administration made a press release that President Duterte is sick when he was absent in the four meetings scheduled in the summit.

The four meetings include: the ASEAN-Australia Informal Breakfast Summit, the 20th ASEAN-Republic of Korea Summit, the Working Lunch hosted by Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the Second Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Summit.

Malacanang clarified that Duterte’s absence in the four meetings has nothing to do with his physical health.

‘We assure the nation that his aforementioned absence has nothing to do with his physical health and well-being which have been the subject of speculation,” Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.

DFA Secretary Teddy Locsin Jr. was designated to represent President Duterte in the four meetings and was tasked to read the President’s remarks in the said meetings.
