Duterte begs for Filipinos to be treated with dignity

"I implore you, I am making a plea to all Arabs, the Filipino is no slave to anyone, anywhere and everywhere. Do not give us back a battered worker or a mutilated corpse."

This is what President Rodrigo Duterte emotionally plead and stated on live television as he presented the graphic photos of the body of a Filipina found in the freezer of an abandoned apartment in Kuwait.

Duterte was shaken to the core by such inhumane treatment that the ordered suspension on sending Filipino workers to Kuwait was to remain indefinitely, following the series of suicides and deaths of Filipino workers this past January.

The President then proceeded to ask the Kuwait government,

"What are you doing to my countrymen? And if I were to do it to your citizens here, would you be happy?”

But the Kuwait government didn’t release a comment.
He then said that he’d ask both Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific to bring back our modern day martyrs home.

"Those who want to be repatriated, with or without money I will ask PAL (Philippine Airlines) and Cebu Pacific to provide the transportation"

"I want them out of the country, those who want to go out, in 72 hours. We will count our lives by the hours because apparently every hour there is suffering and agony," Duterte added.

The President also said that drastic measures were to be taken to prevent further inhumane treatment and death, yet he did not mention what it would’ve been.

As of now, Duterte can only repeatedly express anger on the alleged cases of abuse in Kuwait on low-paid Filipinos who were made to endure rape and starvation.
