On a Super Radyo dzBB interview, House Committee on Justice Chair Reynaldo Umali confirmed this Sunday that Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile is going to be drafted as a part of the private prosecution panel for the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

"Kasama ring kino-consider si [Enrile] as part of the prosecution team," said Umali.

If Enrile accepts the position, he will be advising private prosecution panel. It isn’t surprising that Umali is considering to have Enrile as an adviser, his experience is incredibly invaluable for served as the presiding judge of the Late Chief justice Renato Corona’s impeachment trial.

Umali also stated that, "Basta ang guidelines, or yung criteria as a prosecutor, kailangan abogado. I'm sure there are a lot of congressmen that can be part of the prosecution team."

As of now, the House Committee focused on the creation of impeachment articles against Sereno and they’ve finally found a probable cause on the complaint for Sereno’s impeachment.

March 14 is the set date for the meeting of the panel board to vote upon the draft committees report.
