Duterte sa pamamagitan ng pagsasabing, "Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte."

Why I Love My Boss, Sec Martin Marfori Andanar

I'v sat in a lot of events where he introduces our President.

And because our Pres hates fawning and wants it short and simple, my boss introduces him EXACTLY the way he wants to be introduced:

"Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte."

That's it, pansit.

No long winded OA CVs that make the audience and the honoree squirm on their seats.

He introduces the man who needs no introduction in a manner that honors our President and dignifies both the Office he holds and the country he represents.

And I have seen Sec Martin get up there dressed impeccably and say that one line seamlessly, with as close to perfection as any one human being can say it.

Doesn't matter if he's had back to back days of endless and merciless work.

Doesn't matter if he's on his way to the airport and he's told, last min, that the Pres is in town and will need to be introduced.

He puts things on hold as much as he can, goes onstage and introduces our Pres in a manner befitting this wonderful president.

He doesnt pass it on to lesser mortals like myself (bec I am known to get so starstruck that I fub that one line so bad haha..)

And I see this too- how it pleases the Pres that his Press Sec is the one introducing him. An honor has been given him by one of his most trusted men.

So one time after he had just introduced the Pres and we settled in to listen to the Pres speak, I asked him "Don't you get tired of saying that one line over and over and over?"

And he looks me straight in the eye and I swear his eyes sparkle like he is teary eyed and says to me "I could get fired tomorrow and I could still say 'Yesterday, I had the honor of introducing the President of the Republic of the Philippines'".

O DEVAH. If that's not love..

I love seeing how our President interacts with his Cabinet Secretaries. And I love seeing how our Secretaries interact with each other.

The energy is vibrant and electric. Mostly seniors- men who have known the President all their lives and have no political ambitions.

Just the eagerness to finally do what needs to get done for a country that's long been used and abused by political whores and thieves.

We can finally set right what has been wrong for so long.

I am happy our Pres is loved in big and small ways by those closest to him.

So it is with Sec Martin Andanar.

How he ignores brickbats thrown his way by those who have no idea abt the awesome body of work he's created, rebuilding a world class government communications system that will serve the Filipino people for generations and is key to nation building.

And all in under 2 years and on a shoestring budget.

I love how the work he has put forth has brought the President closer to the Filipino people.

How he's given the voiceless a voice that goes straight to the ears of the President by doing the unprecedented- putting under one roof 1800 public information officers in the 1st ever National Information Convention and supporting them in ways they've never before been supported.

Bec like dusty bureaus with dinosaur equipment that sat on rickety tables, these hard working information off had long been forgotten too and left to fend for themselves.

And I love how he's pulled this communications system out of the dark and into the 21st century with a satellite of our own beaming to 42,000 barangays.

Some of which have never felt the presence of govt in their lives bec the govt that was supposed to serve them cared nothing for them. I have been to those kinds of barangays and it made me bleed.

Well those days are over for now.

That we have a Pres who truly cares for us is no longer a matter of opinion but fact.

And Martin Andanar is not going to waste this gem of a President.

His message of change and hope will get heard by unprecedented numbers of Filipinos.

And here's the best part too: our President gets to hear their voices. Literally.

At no other point in our history has this been done.

Know why?

Bec at no other point in our history has there been a Communications Sec who's had a fuller grasp of what govt communications means.

And just how essential it is to building a strong nation.

So this is why I love my boss.

He loves the Pres I love.

And he loves the country I love.

In big and small ways.

By rebuilding a formidable government communications system that will serve the Filipino people long after we're all gone and forgotten.

And saying,

with great pride and honor,

"Ladies and gentlemen, the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte."
