2017's Woman of the Decade hits back on #BabaeAko campaign

You can never put a good man down, the old saying goes.

However, in the recent fuss against the firebrand president — where netizens use the hashtag #babaeako in the campaign they launch to fight sexism — Pres. Rodrigo Duterte is being castigated by a bunch of women on social media.

This after the remark of the Mindanaoan president aimed at women got on the nerves of the anti-sexist activists.

In a report, the said protesters find the jokes and remarks of the incumbent president a slap on their faces as Pres. Duterte's comments, according to them, were derogatory to their capabilities that are being boxed at their gender identity.

An activist even said that she's afraid that if the president continues doing such, it might get 'normalized' that the today's society would take it as something common and acceptable.

The chief executive is known to say things that are, at first, may sound hurting for feminists, but if you will look closely, these are clearly not meant to be taken literally and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Many of the women who rally against the president's manner of speaking seem to misunderstood the latter. This is because the president is used to speaking that way which those who are indeed sensitive and meticulous to word choice may find foul and discriminating.

The highest leader of the land's latest remark was about the next Chief Justice and Ombudsman when asked who he will appoint next.

"Gusto ko 'yung bilib ang tao sa integrity niya [I want someone with integrity]. Of course it could not be a politician, lalo na hindi babae [especially not a woman]", Pres. Duterte told reporters in Malacañang Tuesday, May 15.

On the other hand, a netizen who — based on her Facebook profile — was awarded as year 2017's Women Economic Forum's Woman of the Decade for Innovation and Enterprise, Norlin Robles Suñga hits back on the president's critics.

In a two-part Facebook post, Suñga injected sarcasm in retaliating with those who consistently chide Pres. Duterte and label him as a misogynist or a woman-h@ter.

1) pag zero withholding tax mo, use the tax table from before at kusa mo iremit ang tax na dapat ay kinaltas sayo.

2) Ibayad mo ung dating retail price ng bilihin bago nag take effect ung TRAIN law.

Mamangka ka papunta sa ibang bansa for all we care.

6) wag mo pag aralin anak mo sa state university.

7) wag kang bibili ng made in China at made in the USA.

Oh ano? Game?

Ayaw nyo kay Duterte pt.2:

1) Since makabayan kayo, fine, let's take up arms and march against China and their advanced weaponry. Un lang, in a matter of minutes, decimated tayo. Pero at least pinaglaban natin ung atin di ba?

2) Wag kayo gumamit ng Facebook, Instagram, at kung ano ano pa na made in Silicon Valley. Pati search engine nyo dapat proudly Filipino. Kasi di ba, fraternizing with the US and its products automatically qualifies you as "tuta ng Kano." Gawa kayo ng sarili nyo dali!

3) Maglakad kayo ng disoras ng gabi sa eskinitang madilim kasi against kayo sa tokhang and pro- life kayo so live normally in the midst of all those dr*g- addled neighbors of yours. Wag tatawag sa 888 to ask for help.

Ano? Game?
