An open letter to CBCP:'Now you accuse the president of destroying your credibility? Sino ba ang nagsimula ng away?'

After the recent incident of another slain priest from Nueva Ecija, the Catholic Church particularly the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) have once again condemn the government.

In a message last Monday, Archdiocese of Lingayen Dagupan, headed by Archbishop Socrates Villegas, have expressed their outrage over the kiIling of  Rev. Fr. Richmond Nilo, parish priest of St. Vincent Ferrer Parish in the Diocese of Cabanatuan.

“They are kilIing our flock. They are kilIing us the shepherds. They are kilIing our faith. They are cursing our Church. They are kilIing God again as they did in Calvary," the priests said.

The priests have consistently condemned the current administration of President Rodrigo Duterte over the alleged EJKs happening.

They also said that they will not be surprised if they will be “cursed” again for voicing their concerns.

"Are you still clapping? Are you still laughing? You still find it funny? You still think 'Dapat lang'? Are you still saying 'Pagbigyan natin'? Are you still saying our people feel safer now? Are you still saying this is the best government we ever had? Is this the change you want? Are these the changes you dream of? Are you still saying 'There are some good things happening! Focus on the good'? If they curse us again for speaking up, we will not be surprised."

"We are not afraid. We trust in the Lord. We are ready to battle for God’s honor. They want to bury us priests. But they forget that we priests are seeds. When you bury us, we will grow more and flourish. You cannot stop the Gospel from growing. You cannot stop God from being God. You cannot muzzle the voice of Truth," the priests added.*

Meanwhile, in response to the Church’s condemnation to the government, a netizen’s open letter went viral on social media as it pointed out how biased the Church has become since the President assumed position.

The letter was from Facebook user Adolfo Mortera, please check out below.

TO CBCP: Attn: Arch. Soc Villegas

You secretly campaigned against President Duterte in 2016.

Without letup, you have been publicly destroying him in your homilies read in all Catholic churches since Day 1 of his presidency.

You allied yourself, your schools and members of the Catholic religious community with the Liberal Party.

You invited disgraced yellow officials like De Lima and Sereno to free use of your institutions in their forums against the administration.

You used LP's fake EJK data in your anti-Duterte rallies where you exploited adolescent students and compelled them to wave anti-Duterte placards your religious sisters wrote.

The President has hit back, calling you the most hypocritical.institution, and embarrased you with shocking revelations about perversion and immorality committed by priests in the book "Altar of Secrets."

And now you play victim by crying persecution and accusing the President of destroying your credibility?

Sino ba ang nagsimula ng away?

If you can't stand the heat, stay away from the kitchen!

If you like politics, throw away your frocks and join LP aka Resist Coalition!

By the way, there's nothing to destroy about your credibility.

To many Catholics like me, matagal na pong wala!
