Fellow ‘Brother in Christ’ striking message to Bro. Eddie Villanueva: "Do not condemn or judge Duterte but be a shepherd like the Lord Jesus"

Following the controversial remark of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte about the “stupid god” he is pertaining to, conflicting reactions from both of his critics and supporters rise. The president’s pronouncement provoked some religious groups and personalities — some understood while the others disagreed with him.

One of them was Evangelist Bro. Eddie Villanueva, who expressed hope and asked President Duterte to issue a public apology for his recent tirade, if not, religious groups would be forced to organize a huge prayer rally.

“We are representing 10 million people. I don't believe the President will ignore this because once he ignores the collective wisdom of the body of Christ, this may lead to a kind of huge prayer rally designed, first, to intercede and for spiritual warfare. And worst I hope it will not lead to the imprecatory prayers,” said Brother Eddie Villanueva in an ANC interview.

Following the Jesus is Lord (JIL) church leader’s statement to the president, former AFP scout ranger and his fellow ‘brother in Christ’ Mr. Abe Purungganan, addressed a very striking message to Bro. Eddie, where he ask the church leader to ‘not condemn or judge President Duterte but be a shepherd like the Lord Jesus.’

“Remember our Lord Jesus never condemned, He came to save,” noted Purungganan to Villanueva.

For Bro. Eddie Villanueva:

I am addressing this to you as a brother in Christ. If there is no peace in your heart on the statements of President Duterte against the teachings of the Catholic Church, it is most prudent and wise to lay down your burden to the Lord Jesus rather down coming out of the media to raise your concern. If you are convicted to do something for him, do not be political nor physical but be spiritual. Ask the Holy Spirit on what to do. Intercede for President Duterte.

Stand in the gap for him. Usher him to the presence of God as what ministers of God are expected to do. Go to him personally and rebuke him with the spirit of gentleness if that is what the Holy Spirit convicts you to do. But do not condemn or judge him but be a shepherd like the Lord Jesus. Remember our Lord Jesus never condemned, He came to save.

I also ask you to rebuke and intercede mightily the leaders of the Catholic church that they may truly follow our Lord Jesus, and that they cast away their idols, lies, deceit, and wicked ways that defile the temple of the living God.

May the Lord strengthen you and give you discernment on what to do. Be blessed Bro. Eddie.”
