Ateneo de Davao alumnus tells Bam Aquino to shut up

Senator Benigno "Bam" Aquino IV is under fire once again after commenting on the issues of many local government officials being murdered in broad daylight. Aquino said that these murders have increased the danger in the country and he calls on President Rodrigo Duterte to lead the condemnation of these crimes and make the first step in stopping the increased violence.

Ateneo de Davao alumnus Monching Lumantas was quick to respond to the senator’s statements. He called Aquino a “neophyte senator”, saying that he is still new in the area of politics, and that President Duterte has been in the business for a much longer time.

Lumantas said that being in politics for a longer period of time means that President Duterte is an expert in the field. He also said that Aquino only got into politics because of relatives that have been in the business before him.

He further states that Aquino knows nothing because he immediately became senator without first being involved in local governance like being a barangay councilor or purok chairman.

Lumantas calls out Aquino for being in the senate only because of late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

Ending his post, Lumantas had some words for Bam Aquino. He said that senators like him, including those in the opposition should make sure to take a pause before they start attacking the president.

He says that when it comes to the murders of the many local officials, they should not just throw around accusations. He adds that it is unfair that Aquino is immediately linking this to extra judicial killings, saying that an investigation is going on and it is only then that the truth will be uncovered.

More than that, he warns Aquino to “not teach the President on what to do”. He said that Duterte being a lawyer and chief implementer of the law is enough proof that these things should just be left to him.

"This neophyte senator is again barking as if he knows the law.

Let me remind you Bamski that when Rodrigo Duterte first entered politics 30 years ago, you might still be wearing diapers or pissing in your pants. He was a prosecutor for nearly a decade, Mayor for three terms, Congressman and Vice Mayor each for one term. In other words, his broad experience in governance is unquestionable. His track record was impeccable.

In comparison, you only became a lawmaker because of your famous or I should say "infamous" surname. You never held any position in government prior to becoming a Senator of the Republic. Not even a barangay councilor or purok chairman. Just your spectacles and the image of your late uncle. Of course, not to mention your cousin Noynoy was at the helm. In other words, your stint in politics was merely a stroke of luck.

So, before opening your mouth, let me give you a tiny bit of advice. You should be the one stopping the criticisms hurled against the President. Do not outright conclude that the recent spate of assassinations are deemed extra judicial killings. You are already preempting the results of the ongoing investigation conducted by the authorities. It is you and your cohorts in the opposition who are creating chaos and disinformation. Last, but not the least, NEVER teach the President on what to do. He is a lawyer and he is the chief implementor of the law. Just confine yourself in the august halls of Congress. Otherwise. ..
