Canadian political commentator: "God does not need that money" give it to poor flock

Self-proclaimed Canadian political commentator Amir Assadolahi in his Facebook page barrated the Roman catholic church in the Philippines, noting that they are one of the richest institutions in the world, yet they have a flock of 20,000,000 living under the poverty line, and what's worse is that the flock does not know of their wealth.

Assadolahi said that the money should be handed to the poor since "God does not need that money".

"If they use that money to become rich while 20,000,000 of their flock is living below the poverty line, then there is something seriously wrong with what they preach! I am not sure they worship the same god the people worship," he said.

"My congratulations to the church to keep the people ignorant about the fact that they support a Church that is so rich that can feed the entire nation, while the nation remains hungry!" he added.

He said that when he personally asked some of his Filipino friends of their knowledge of the church's wealth, and were told of the answer, they were shocked.

He also questioned why the church is not made to oay any tax in the country.

"Okay, let’s put it in a different way to make people see why it is important to tax all religious institutions, and Catholic church is no different than the rest not is any other church or religious institution should be given any special privileges. They should not be allowed to involve in education of children and have any saying in educational matters, nor should be able to have any saying in laws, governance and politics. This should be clear enough to everyone why!"

Under the law, the church is exempted but only in property tax, to slodify the constitutionallu guaranteed separation of church and state.

He said that if the United States Catholic Church has spent over US$4 billion to settle sex abuse cases involving its clergy, how rich could the Catholic Church in the Philippines be as of the moment?

"The offering to the temple or to the church is not for god not it is for those work there under god’s name - it is the offering to the people and for the people by the people, in a sense it is a form of voluntary tax so that it will be used to help the society, something they have always failed to do. We pay taxes to the government so they will build what society needs to thrive. It looks like the religious organizations spends that money to pay for the pleasure of their priests while tax their flocks for it," he said.
He then quoted a Bible passage.

"Mark 12:41-44 New International Version (NIV) “The Widow’s Offering”

41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”"

Did you know how rich the Philippines Catholic church was? They are one of the richest by the way, and it is kinda sad to know that they have a flock of 20,000,000 living under the poverty line.

When I asked my Filipinos friends if they knew how rich their Catholic church was, and gave them the info, they were all shocked!

Just listening to the Philippnes’ Catholic church’s cardinal being interviewed males my stomach twist and turn learning that they know how rich they are but their flocks is so poor! (https://www.facebook.com/200328460714473/videos/267089237371728/ ) And to me it is a big surprise why they do not pay any taxes. They should pay for back taxes as well, don’t you think so?

Okay, let’s put it in a different way to make people see why it is important to tax all religious institutions, and Catholic church is no different than the rest not is any other church or religious institution should be given any special privileges. They should not be allowed to involve in education of children and have any saying in educational matters, nor should be able to have any saying in laws, governance and politics. This should be clear enough to everyone why!

The Philippines’ Catholic church is the richest of all Catholic church denominations, and they are not that clean handed either! Now, imagine this when in the U.S. alone the Catholic Church has spent over US$4 billion to settle sex abuse cases involving its clergy, how rich the Catholic Church in the Philippines should be. My congratulations to the church to keep the people ignorant about the fact that they support a Church that is so rich that can feed the entire nation, while the nation remains hungry!

I am not sure what to say! Yeah, dance!

Don’t stain the name of the god for your own benefit, because god does not need you, and you will not be able to pass through the gates of heaven with all the wealth you have and shall burn in the fires of hell.

You all know the story of “The Widow’s Offering”, right? The church has become like those rich people at the gate of temple!

( https://youtu.be/e1G-aZIempw ) The offering to the temple or to the church is not for god not it is for those work there under god’s name - it is the offering to the people and for the people by the people, in a sense it is a form of voluntary tax so that it will be used to help the society, something they have always failed to do. We pay taxes to the government so they will build what society needs to thrive. It looks like the religious organizations spends that money to pay for the pleasure of their priests while tax their flocks for it. God does not need that money, remember that from the story of “the Widow’s Offering.” So, if the they use that money to become rich while 20,000,000 of their flock is living below the poverty line, then there is something seriously wrong with what they preach! I am not sure they worship the same god the people worship.
