Former Public Relations and Social Media Specialist at Philippine Politicians now Thailand-based Supervisor, Joe Smith Medina is an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who is a staunch defender of the Pampanga-representative-turned-first-female-House-Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

His support, according to Medina, started in as early as 2001 where he was only a grade school, specifically Grade 5.

Based on his Facebook posts, Medina also happens to be a pro-Duterte supporter.

In one his recent posts anent Arroyo’s rise to power, he congratulated her accordingly by posting a message for her on Facebook.

The former Philippine president, whom he referred to as the first President he admired, was hailed as the newly-elected House Speaker as a result of the majority vote in the lower house.

According to the OFW who is in favor of Arroyo’s Speakership, it was GMA who served as his role model in terms of Political leadership before he ever gained admiration to Gibo Teodoro, Bongbong Marcos, Rordigo Duterte, Ferdinand Marcos, Dick Gordon, and Mitos Magsaysay to name a few.

The congratulatory message reads,

“Congratulation to the first President I admired, to my role model on Political leadership before I gained admiration with Gibo Teodoro, Bongbong Marcos, Rordigo Duterte, Ferdinand Marcos , Dick Gordon, Mitos Magsaysay, etc, as new House Speaker of the Philippine Congress. I have been her defender since Grade 5 (Year 2001) and until now she remains the reason why I have so many ideas on political governance even I remain a humble ordinary citizen of the Philippines.”

Medina reiterated his support for the new House Speaker by sharing that even though he is far away from home, he never stops rallying the good work of ex-PGMA together with the late strongman President Marcos and now the incumbent president, Pres. Rodrigo Duterte

“Even I am far away, I always rally the good works of yours with President Marcos and President Rodrigo Duterte”, he wrote.

The stalwart added that Speaker Arroyo who is a Former President, Former Minister of Trade , Former Minister of Social Welfare, Former Senator will be an asset to the Congress.

Meanwhile, in a separate post, Media expressed disfavor in re-electing former leaders to run the Philippine government. However, according to him, the said system stemmed from what he called ‘degenerated system of political poison’ due to our very Constitution as it allows it to happen.

Nevertheless, Media mentioned that “setting aside the morality” of re-electing the leaders who already seated in power, we should face the truth that, as per the GMA loyalist, there are reasons why GMA seemed to be the perfect fit for the position.

"I'm honestly not favor of re-electing former leaders to run our Philippine government but this system has been rooted from degenerated system of political poison because our Constitution allows it", he started.

Further, the former politician's PR and Social Media Specialist stated two key factors to support his claim.

Discussing ex-PGMA's capability to wear the Speaker's hat, Medina mentioned Speaker Arroyo's scholastic background that makes her the best choice.

The GMA supporter pointed out that the first factor that sets Arroyo apart from the rest is her experience on dealing with Foreign Relations, something that is very evident in her younger years.

He added that she was "a Deans Lister of Georgetown University, handled the good relationship of Philippines with European Union, Asia and United States".

The second was her expertise in economics. As Medina narrated, it was Arroyo who brought the industry of BPO or Business Processing Outsourcing — commonly known as call center — in the country.

Medina continued that it was the former president's policies in economy that had helped the country surmount the World Economic Crisis. In addition, the previously seating as Pampanga's representative was also the one who pioneered resillient laws to drive away Philippines from Asian Financial Crisis when she was still a Senator, Medina explained.

The controversial former president even lead the Trade and Industry during Aquino Administration and Philippines was one of the most active in World Trade Organization, said Medina.

On the other hand, there is one thing he prays for about Speaker Arroyo's take over in power. And that is her faith as a Catholic.

"But , I am praying that GMA will not be a 100% follower of Roman Catholic Church policy", the Arroyo supporter noted.

.
Medina's most recent post regarding Arroyo was his prayer for the latter as she begins another journey as a leader.

"I hope and pray that under the leadership of former President and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will speed up the passing of economic bills that can help fuel our economy, harmonize our foriegn relations with other countries and reform our country", he said adding "I pray that through her leadersip with President Rodrigo Duterte, we will be able to strengthen political party system, strengthen tourism as a fundamental economic dependence of our country aside from Business Process Outsourcing and bring new faces of leaders in our country".

First

Congratulation to the first President I admired, to my role model on Political leadership before I gained admiration with Gibo Teodoro, Bongbong Marcos, Rordigo Duterte, Ferdinand Marcos , Dick Gordon, Mitos Magsaysay, etc, as new House Speaker of the Philippine Congress. I have been her defender since Grade 5 (Year 2001) and until now she remains the reason why I have so many ideas on political governance even I remain a humble ordinary citizen of the Philippines. Even I am far away, I always rally the good works of yours with President Marcos and President Rodrigo Duterte. You will be an asset in Congress Former President, Former Minister of Trade , Former Minister of Social Welfare, Former Senator and now House Speaker Maria Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Second

I'm honestly not favor of re-electing former leaders to run our Philippine government but this system has been rooted from degenerated system of political poison because our Constitution allows it. Setting aside the morality of re electing former leaders, let us face the truth and fact that in the present Parliament, House Speaker Cong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is the most experienced on dealing with Foriegn Relations , she was a Deans Lister of Georgetown University, handled the good relationship of Philippines with European Union, Asia and United States. She was the president who brought the Business Processing Outsourcing in Philippines that's why we have a continous economic growth. Her economic policies have helped Philippines surmount the World Economic Crisis, she has pioneered resillient laws during her term as Senator to drive away Philippines from Asian Financial Crisis, she has lead the Trade and Industry during Aquino Administration and Philippines was one of the most active in World Trade Organization. Her expertise will be an asset under Duterte Administration. But , I am praying that GMA will not be a 100% follower of Roman Catholic Church policy.

Third

I hope and pray that under the leadership of former President and now House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo will speed up the passing of economic bills that can help fuel our economy, harmonize our foriegn relations with other countries and reform our country. I pray that through her leadersip with President Rodrigo Duterte, we will be able to strengthen political party system, strengthen tourism as a fundamental economic dependence of our country aside from Business Process Outsourcing and bring new faces of leaders in our country. We need new ideas, new perspective and new voices. The circus of politics remain with the oligarchs and it will not stop unless our leaders will start to reform these.
