Ateneo alumnus hits at Karen Davila: "Use your head"

Ateneo de Davao alumnus and an avid Duterte supporter was clearly disappointed towards radio broadcaster and journalist Karen Davila for a tweet she made regarding Carlos Celdran’s act of protest against the church where he was prosecuted for Offending Religious Feelings.

This is Davila’s tweet:

"To the Supreme Court: How can @carlosceldran be penalized for Offending Religious Feelings when no less that the Presidnt has cursed the church?"

To which Lumantas replied that Celdran committed a crime. It is stated in Article 133 that "anyone who, in a place devoted to religious worship or during the celebration of any religious ceremony, shall perform acts notoriously offensive to the feelings of the faithful”.

He said that Celdran was in clear violation of this when he stood outside the church holding a “DAMASO” card.

But more than that, Celdran took offense for Davila insulting the president as she “questions his wisdom”. He also thinks that the veteran reporter is questioning the decision of the Supreme Court on their call towards Celdran.

As if those comments were not enough, Lumantas continued on to give Davila unsolicited advice.

He says that she should be careful of the tweets that she make as carelessness may lose her supporters and followers. More than that, he says that she should “practice responsible journalism” and “set aside politics”.

Talk show host ka pa naman ng "Headstart" on ANC but you're not using your head 😴

Celdran was prosecuted and convicted for violation of Article 133 of the Revised Penal Code or Offending the Religious Feelings. It is a crime committed by “anyone who, in a place devoted to religious worship or during the celebration of any religious ceremony, shall perform acts notoriously offensive to the feelings of the faithful.”

Kung naintindihan mo ang provision na yan, ano ang connection sa ginawa ng Pangulo? Worst, you are even questioning the wisdom and maligning the credibility of the justices of the Supreme Court.

High regard at "crush" kapa naman ng Pangulo! Remember yung interview mo sa kanya at DZMM TeleRadyo during the campaign? Why do you keep on attacking him now that he is President?

Let me give you an unsolicited advice Karen...be careful with your tweets and posts on social media. You might lose your admirers and followers on television. Practice responsible journalism. Accept the reality that your candidate lost. Set aside politics. Your employer ABS-CBN may come and go.

But the people watching you will always be there wherever you may go. 😍
