Jay Sonza on Trillanes Looming Arrest: "The Senate must turn him over to the authorities now!"

After President Rodrigo Duterte has invalidated the grant of amnesty to Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and orders his arrest, the Senator as of press time last night has decided to stay at the Senate premises since other senators agreed that authorities should not be allowed to arrest the opposition lawmaker inside the Senate building to preserve the institution’s dignity.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III said the Upper Chamber will not allow Trillanes or some other senators there in to be captured inside its premises.

Trillanes' amnesty was allegedly voided for failure to comply with its minimum requirements and was ordered to be arrested and prosecuted for his involvement in the 2003 Oakwood mutiny and the 2007 Manila Peninsula Hotel siege against the administration of then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Although the senator initially said that he would neither escape nor resist arrest, he later decided to stay in the custody of the Senate and will not turn himself over to the arresting authorities waiting for him and won't surrender.

This hiding act of Trillanes and the Senate made the veteran journalist and political analyst, Mr Jay Sonza very furious.

Reason why in his latest Facebook post, the former TV host expressed his dismay to the senator and his colleagues and said that the Senate must conform with the law and turn Trillanes over to the authorities at once.

"Akala ko ba hindi takot makulong si Antonio Trillanes IV. Bakit ngayon ang dami satsat at nagpapakanlong pa sa Senado? The Senate must now conform with the law. The case of Trillanes is not covered by the immunity clause. The penalty for the crime he has committed is punishable by life imprisonment. Therefore the Senate must turn him over to the authorities now!", he exclaimed.

Likewise, in another recent post, Mr. Sonza slammed Trillanes and told the latter that this misfortune actually happened to him because of his arrogance and lunacy and for saying that President Duterte has low IQ.

He additionally said that the senator will be facing a court martial that is punishable by life imprisonment or worst, death by firing squad.

"Sabi mo kasi Sonny mahina ang IQ ni Digong. Iyan tuloy ang nangyari na DQ ka ng tuluyan. ang yabang, bopol, at tanga mo lang kasi. wala kana ngang IQ, zero pa ang EQ mo. siyanga pala, since court martial ang kaso mong coup de etat baka lang Hindi mo batid ang Parusa diyan ay death by firing squad. FYI lang Po.", Mr. Sonza wrote.

The veteran journo further said that the Makati regional trial court is expected to release today the alias warrant and hold departure against Trillanes and said that the latter's case in RTC was not even dismissed and was just suspended because he allegedly failed to submit his amnesty in court.

"Inaasahang ilalabas ngayon umaga ng Makati regional trial court ang alias WARRANT at HOLD DEPARTURE laban Kay Trillanes. Hindi pala na dismiss iyong kaso niya sa RTC. suspended lang dahil sa sabi niyang meron siyang amnesty ipapalabas but not submitted the same in court.", the veteran journo added.

Meanwhile, in another post, Mr. Sonza then again speaks his wit and humor by presumptuously
unfolding what Senator Trillanes can do regarding his case.

He wrote that the senator can actually go to Supreme Court and question the revocation of his amnesty, or he can ask congress to disallow it, or he can fight during his arrest, but problem is both SC and Congress are not in good terms with him and fighting is not suited for him since as per Mr. Sonza, the senator is coward.

"Trillanes can do three things today. he can go to SC and question the revocation of his amnesty. problem is his group filed impeachment complaint Vs. the magistrates. or he can ask congress to concur the revocation. problem is Gloria is the speaker, iyong unang nagpakulong sa Kanya. or puwede siyang manlaban during his arrest. problem is duwag siyang mang Agaw my baril at mamatay. sanay lang siyang mang umit ng kutsara at tinidor sa 5 star hotel", the veteran journo kiddingly said.
