Why Winnie the Pooh is banned in China?

Xi and Pooh first emerged in 2003, after Chinese social media users began circulating a pair of pictures that placed an image of Pooh and his slender tiger friend "Tigger" beside a photograph of Xi walking with then-US President Barack Obama.

Some online users also disapproved President Rodrigo Duterte's alliance with China, that is why online users used hashtag “XiJinPooh” as they expressed disapproval for the Chinese' leader visit in the country.

"BOO POOH

It’s really frustrating and enraging to see mainstream media allowing itself to be tools of a relentless hate campaign by the yellow losers.

Instead of helping uplift the country during a historic visit by a superpower country which recognizes our strategic importance, they would rather use their influence to provide the yellow propagandists the avenue to embarrass the current administration and our visitor.

Mainstream media in this country is no longer acting as the fourth estate.

Instead, it is now clearly a shameless tool of destabilization and disinformation.

(PS... this Winnie the Pooh reference to President Xi Jinping is a deliberate exploitation by the yellow braintrust meant to humiliate PRRD and the government. It includes a budgeted social media campaign, plus this barrage of news articles which on the surface looks like harmless reporting. However, notice how all these media entities carry the same slant)."
