The beloved institution that is the Department of Health is in a BIG MESS, and all fingers seems to be pointed to the one who is heading it.

From the Benigno “Noynoy” Simeon Aquino III presidency it has over spilled to the present administration- Janet Garin to the present DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III.

Where it all started

The Dengvaxia vaccine that was administered to at least 830,000 schoolchildren a program that was launched in 2016 and was spearheaded by none other than the Department of Health.

Then, DOH Secretary Janet Garin under the leadership of Aquino decided to proceed with the mass vaccination of Filipino children in order to combat the dengue disease being proliferated by mosquitoes.

While the rationale was really noble and good, it was in the implementation of the program where the big mess started.

Dengvaxia which was touted as the wonder vaccine was manufactured by Sanofi, with the approval of the Aquino administration despite the vaccine still lacking of vital medical studies that resulted to an increasing number of deaths of Filipino children inoculated with the vaccine.

Kick Duque out

Families of the victims who reportedly died after vaccination of the Dengvaxia vaccine is making sure their loud voices are heard- and this is for President Rodrigo Duterte to kick Health Secretary Francisco Duque III out of his cabinet.

Thru the help of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) 2 news cases were filed at the Department of Justice (DOJ) and now totalling to 29 individual complaints for deaths of their respective children after being inoculated by the vaccine.*

Also included in the complaint charged aside from Garin and Duque are, officials of the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine who conducted the clinical trials; officials of the Food and Drug Administration who approved the Dengvaxia’s certificate of product registration; officials of Sanofi Pasteur Inc., the maker of Dengvaxia; and officials of Zuellig Pharma Corp., the distributor.
‘Useless, all but lip service’

PAO’s Forensic head Dr. Erwin Erfe a few months ago called Duque useless and nothing but lip service.

"Puro lip service lang naman si Secretary Duque eh. Lahat ng sinasabi niya doon ay hindi naman totoo. Kinakailangan kumilos naman sila kung hindi kaya ni Secretary Duque, dapat siguro mag-resign nasiya eh," Dr. Erfe said.

The PAO doctor has maintained that there is a”strong” connection between the controversial vaccine and the alleged victims of the vaccine autopsied by his office.

"What we are seeing is a strong link between Dengvaxia vaccination at saka 'yung pagkamatay nung biktima. 'Yun ang sinasabi naming pero hindi naming sinasabi na ito ay conclusive findings," Erfe said.
