UP alumnus to Trillanes on his speaking engagements abroad: 'Nagingay ulit kasi duwag, face your fears!'

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has recently asked the Makati court that issued a warrant of arrest against him in September to allow him leave the country for various speaking engagements in Europe and the United States in the next months.

Speaking activities

Trillanes camp said they received “invitation from different groups” to attend various activities in Amsterdam, Barcelona and London from December 11 to January 12 next year.

There was also an invitation to deliver a lecture on “Democracy and the Rule of Law in the Philippines” at the Universeit Van Amsterdam on Dec. 13, 2019, as part of the university’s “Asia Updates” series.

‘Face your fears’

Meanwhile, this news from the senator did not go unnoticed by his critics, telling him to face his fears.

Political commentator and a known supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, Adolfo Mortera, called Trillanes a ‘coward’ and should face his cases instead.

“There is an apparent disconnect between Trillanes' urgent call to investigate the CH-PH MOUs drafted during President Xi Jinping's visit, and his wanting to travel to EU and USA for 2 months.” the UP alumnus said on his Facebook post

“Is he anticipating an arrest during this period following a probable court order granting DOJ's MR to issue a non-bailable arrest order for his coup d’├ętat case?” the commentator added

Mortera’s full post reads:

WHERE TO, TRILLANES?

LAST WEEK, this National Pest and his breed of yellow termites bashed President Duterte for that now famous power nap at the Asean Summit in Singapore.

THE OTHER DAY, he, along with Magdaldal partylist rep Alejano, declared they will investigate all 28 China-PH draft MOUs (even before Pres. XI Jin Ping arrived) and condemned PRRD for alleged lack of transparency in CH-PH deals.*

TODAY, he asked Makati RTC Branch 150 for authority to travel to EU and USA for 2 months, from December 11 to February 12 next year. Please note that Makati RTC 150 issued an HDO against Trillanes last September in connection with Proc. 572 which voided his amnesty.

There is an apparent disconnect between Trillanes' urgent call to investigate the CH-PH MOUs drafted during President Xi Jinping's visit, and his wanting to travel to EU and USA for 2 months.

Is he anticipating an arrest during this period following a probable court order granting DOJ's MR to issue a non-bailable arrest order for his coup d’├ętat case?

Prior to his rant about the President's power nap, Trillanes has been so quiet. Was he busy preparing for the motion filed by the DOJ asking Judge Soriano of RTC 148 in Makati to nullify the earlier decision to issue a non-bailable warrant of arrest?

NOTE: Trillanes faces the following scenarios between now and next year:

* With his term as senator ending, where will he get the funds for his consultants and lawyers?

* Re his motion with the Supreme Court to invalidate the President’s proclamation 572, if SC denies it and instead upholds PRRD's Proc. 572, he will be trapped as rat.

*Judge Soriano of Makati RTC 148 may, anytime between now and December, grant DOJ's MR and issue an arrest order.

If anything, Trillanes' latest noise is all bluff, all for show to camouflage his fears.

Nagingay ulit kasi duwag.

Face your fears, dumbo!

Don't fly away from your crimes against the state!
