The police are currently undergoing investigation on the matter, even looking into the possibility that Santillan might have been involved in some illegal work.

Chong alleges threat towards him

Lawyer Glenn Chong said that Santillan was “abducted, tortured, executed and set-up”.

There have also been reports going around saying that the death of his body guard is linked to the issue of the Vice President election recount that Chong was highly involved in.

Hypocritical to cry for EJK

Kevin Mandrilla, a graduate from University of the Philippines (UP) and a critic of the Duterte administration, gave his two cents on the matter and posted in on popular social media site Facebook.

In the post that Mandrilla made, he called the Duterte supporters as hypocrites when they called the death of Santillan as a case of EJK.

Mandrilla said that he found it rather offensive that these people only chose to react about the issue of EJKs when it was Santillan who was found dead.

He remembers the thousands of people who died under Duterte’s war on drugs, yet people celebrated it.

He even takes offense that Chong chose to turn this tragic incident as a political issue. Mandrilla points out that a man just died yet what is the most story that has come out of it is politics.

It’s not VP

He continues on to say that it is quite absurd that the Chong camp will link this towards Vice President Leonor “Leni” Robredo when she is not capable of hurting anyone. He says that the VP knows that the issue of the recount of the vice presidency is left to the decision of the Supreme Court and not through killing innocent people.

The next thing he says is that it is possible that Santillan could be involved with some illegal work.

He says that Chong is doing his best to hide it if it is true because of course he would not want to be associated with someone who has been playing dirty.

Ending his post, Mandrilla obviously shows utmost concern towards the family and friends of Santillan whose life is made a spectacle.

Consider this.

Innocent until proven guilty. Due process. Lahat yan importante dito. Pero anong nangyari? Pinagbabaril sya at may claims pa of torture.
