OFW expresses disappointment towards people who do not appreciate their "Pasalubong"

Raymond Lopez is an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), and he shared in Facebook what he feels about his job living away from home trying to provide for his family and the challenges he faces when he goes home to the Philippines.

Lopez says that OFWs like him do not go and work in other countries in order to have a life of grandeur. In fact, Lopez says that when they work abroad, they struggle and save every extra penny in order for it to be sent back to their families in the Philippines for them to have better lives.

Which is why, when he goes home to the Philippines with ‘pasalubongs’ or souvenirs, he gets very offended when relatives and friends are ungrateful for his gifts, saying that his gifts are not luxurious enough.

He says that the gifts that he brings home are not even required of him. They are not an obligation, he says. He goes home to the Philippines in order to rest from work and to be with his family.

Ending his post, he challenges these people to try working abroad and experience the sacrifices he makes while working in a foreign land.
