Palawan among Frommer's travel guide's 'Best Places to Go in 2026'






Palawan, known for its limestone cliffs and crystal clear waters, was once again recognized as one of the world's best destinations.


Frommer's has included Palawan in its "Best Places to Go in 2026" list, which has been chosen by the travel guide's editors and contributors across the globe. 


It joins the likes of Chicago in the United States, Oulu in Finland, Algarve in Portugal, Adelaide in Australia, Patagonia Azul in Argentina, Vienna in Austria, and Costa Navarino in Greece, among others.


For Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) chief operating officer Margarita Nograles, the Frommer's recognition is a reminder of the Philippines' deeper tourism story. An attached agency of the Department of Tourism, the TPB aims to promote boost visitor arrivals, receipts and investments in the country. 



"When destinations like Palawan are celebrated, what the world is really seeing are the communities behind them; the stewards who protect every reef, forest, and shoreline," Nograles said in a statement. 


"That's what makes the Philippines special. Every traveler contributes to something lasting," she added.


One of Palawan's recent accolades is its inclusion in Conde Nast Traveler's top islands in Asia, along with Boracay and Siargao. 


The tropical paradise has been repeatedly dubbed "world's best island" by different international publications. 


Aside from its beaches and lagoons, Palawan is also popular for attractions such as the Puerto Princesa Underground River and Calauit Safari.
