This netizen sought medical help for his dystonia, asking a non-government organization founder and social media warrior to raise funds for him and to directly ask President Rodrigo Duterte for help.

But when The Little Swallow Founder MJ Quiambao Reyes failed to pool in the necessary resources, the unidentified male netizen got angry.

Reyes expressed her hurt and disappointment over the events saying that she tries her best to ask for help and raise whatever funds she could to help people like the netizen, however, when the resources cannot be pulled in, Reyes herself becomes frustrated.

“It is frustrating and oftentimes depressing that, at the end of the day, I can only do so much... Sorry but I only have limited capacity, influence, and resources,” Reyes lamented.

But despite her limits, Reyes asserts that she does not deserve to be spoken to or treated in the way the unnamed male netizen did.

She explained that she receives at least 10 messages a day asking for help, in one way or another, and some of them have conditions worse than the unnamed male citizen who suffers from dystonia.

Dystonia is a medical condition where one’s muscles contracts uncontrollably.

Reyes’ NGO, The Little Swallow, is supported by hard work just so she can help some indigent children, among them being able to provide them secondhand strollers.

Despite the unnamed netizen’s insults against her, Reyes urged him to vent out his anger towards corruption and abuse which causes poor medical services.

The NGO founder further urged to support the President and other people who genuinely lobby against corruption.

Reyes full post on Facebook reads:

He pm'd me months ago and said he is suffering from dystonia. He wanted me 1) to raise funds for him and 2) to directly ask PRRD for help.

I politely suggested that he proceed to PGH because that is where PRRD alloted Php100M for patients like him.

I tried contacting other agencies who can help him, albeit unsuccessful.

He was very unhappy when I failed to do an online fund-raising for him. His frustrations and anger were later directed to me.

The most I can ask from people are used strollers for indigent sick children.

The reality is: I am overwhelmed by a lot of messages everyday.

I had to work long and hard everyday (and night!) for the past 25 years just to be able to do what I do, provide for my family, and support some indigent sick children thru The Little Swallow.

It is frustrating and oftentimes depressing that, at the end of the day, I can only do so much... Sorry but I only have limited capacity, influence, and resources...

Gawin natin yan--mayaman man tayo o mahirap.
