With a train that will travel at 120 kilometers per hour and passing through 17 stations of the 106-kilometer long railway, commuters can expect more efficient transportation before 2020.

DOTr Secretary Art Tugade relays that this is one of the projects aimed at helping decongest the traffic in Metro Manila and bring development into Central Luzon.

The Japanese government will fund the entire project amounting to a total of Php 255 billion as part of their aid and cooperation with the Philippine government.

The railway will pass through Tutuban and Solis stations in Manila and through the cities of Caloocan and Valenzuela.

Its other stations will be set at Meycauayan, Marilao, Bocaue, Balagtas, Guiguinto, Malolos, and Calumpit in Bulacan, then go through Pampanga via Apalit, San Fernando, Angeles, Clark, and Clark International Airport before it stops at the proposed New Clark City.

The new railway is expected to serve around 340,000 commuters on its first year of operation, reports the DOTr.
