'Closing time deals' kung tawagin.

Until today, I always adored other commercial bakeshops' closing time deals where u get either 50% off your total bill or a buy 1 get 1 promo on selected items from their menu. I mean, who doesnt love discounts?

This practice prompted me to ignore the products of BreadTalk no matter how delish-smelling they are. I remember even asking a BreadTalk sales person once why they couldnt do the same thing as what the other bakeshops offer.

Today, though, as I was waiting for my ride home in BreadTalk when the mall was just about 5 minutes shy from closing, I saw a guy come in to the store and ask the manager, "Pwede na po?" It got me all curious thinking BreadTalk has finally done their own version of closing time deals so i asked the manager if there was such.

The manager smiled and explained: "Maam, wala pong promo. Every night po, lahat ng natitira sa stores namin all over the world, binibigay namin sa charity.

Wow! So yes, instead of offering promos to sell to people who can already afford products even when there isnt any promo at all, BreadTalk makes a difference by promoting love instead of profit. I was amazed at this gesture and learned one very important lesson this evening: we cannot judge what we do not know. Just because we think we dont benefit from one thing, it doesnt mean others (especially the ones who need it the most) dont with the same thing.

Hats off, BreadTalk Philippines! You gained one big fan here.
