Moviegoers and netizens are unquestionably anticipating the Philippine remake of the popular Korean Drama film Miracle in Cell No. 7, particularly after the trailer for the movie has just been released. But what does the original Korean actors and casts think about it?

Miracle in Cell No.7, a truly heartwarming film which is tragic and yet at the same time heartfelt, became one of the best selling films in South Korea.

The story was about a father, who is intellectually handicapped, but loves his daughter very much, is falsely accused of a crime and sent to Korean prison whos inmates join forces to protect him and his young daughter. Later, his daughter Ye-Seung who is a law school student, works to prove his innocence.

Now, the Philippines has made a remake of this hit Korean movie and will feature the acting prowess of prominent artists Aga Muhlach and Xia Vigor, together with Bella Padilla. And in all things considered, it appears that Ryu Seung-Ryong, the original actor for the lead role of Lee Yong-gu, to be played by Aga Muhlach, approves of the adaptation.

One of the biggest movie stars in Korea, Ryu Seung-Ryong actually reacts and shares the teaser of this Philippine adaptation and wrote that he was happy that their movie will have a remake.

“So touched to know that there will be a Philippine remake of Miracle in Cell No. 7,” Ryu wrote.

Ryu is considered as one of the most versatile actors of Korea at this time, having featured in high-grossing Korean movies including Extreme Job and Netflix zombie thriller, Kingdom.

The Philippine remake of Miracle in Cell No. 7 will be part of the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival and will hit theaters in December.
